Shelf hardware - too hard to push in or pull out

Try opening up the width of the route on the edge of the wood. Try 10 to 10.5mm by running your 3/8" router 2 times with a 1mm offset. 

 

Another thing you can try is going shallower than 10mm deep will also reduce friction and provide you an easier time sliding. Try 9.65mm.
